In college I got in the habit of sketching a set number of pages a daily, or filling an entire sketchbook full on a weekly basis.  I carried this habit through college and into my first couple years in the industry but have since become too busy to maintain such a frequent habit. Ultimately I’ll pick up again and will start updating the gallery with more frequent work.

speed painting refers usually to rapidly produced concepts, I’ve never been extremely good at it, but have fun none-the-less. This form of sketching usually involves photoshop, my wacom tablet and 30 minutes to an hour of free time. I also do a few speed modeling sessions with Google Sketchup.

More “complete” pieces of art either for web or print. I really don’t do an immense amount of these unless its for a product I am working on. Illustrations tend to eat more of my time than I have to spare.

concept designs

sometimes I am asked to sketch out some ideas for people, or for a specific level I am working on, these images are related to a specified product or level that I have worked on at some point in the last decade, everything from Superfly an open environment game where you play a fly that collects and transmits diseases to the humans and animals within the world, the goal being to force all humans and domestic animals from the environment; to a sports arena manager where the user is required to schedule and manage their venues with league games, concerts and other activites, the goal being to keep the arena occupied and bringing in revenue; the rest in this are level layouts (with some text blocked out for confidentiality reasons) for the various products I’ve worked on Men of Valor, a 3D fighting game at Sunstorm, and a Serious Sam level layout.
